Warranty Policy

Warranty & RMA Service Terms

IMPORTANT NOTICE - EFFECTIVE DATE: The updated warranty periods below apply to all orders placed on or after March 3, 2026. Orders placed prior to this date are strictly unaffected and will continue to be fully honored under their original terms.

1. Unified 5-Year Warranty Coverage & Supremacy Clause To reflect our absolute confidence in the enterprise-grade hardware we supply, Robert Electronics provides an industry-leading warranty standard:

  • All Hard Drives (Brand New, Recertified & Refurbished): Regardless of the brand (Seagate / Western Digital), series (Exos / IronWolf), or condition, your drive is covered by our comprehensive 5-Year Limited Enterprise Warranty from the date of original purchase.

  • ⚠️ Policy Override (Product Page Discrepancies): As we are currently updating our global catalog, you may still see legacy text on certain individual product pages stating a "3-Year Warranty." Please disregard the product page in these instances. In the event of any conflict or discrepancy between an individual product description and this official policy, this document shall strictly prevail. You are fully protected by our 5-Year coverage.

2. Coverage Scope

  • Mechanical & Firmware Support: We provide coverage for internal mechanical failures, bad sectors, and official firmware corruption under normal continuous use.

  • Hardware Only: This warranty covers the physical hardware exclusively. It does not cover data recovery services, loss of profits, downtime, or any indirect/consequential damages.

3. Replacement Policy (New vs. Recertified) To ensure sustainable global support and address industry-wide supply chain challenges, we adhere to standard enterprise manufacturer replacement protocols:

  • Functional Equivalence: Replacements may be previously used, factory re-certified, and rigorously tested to meet original manufacturer specifications.

  • Model Obsolescence (EOL): If a specific model is discontinued or out of stock, we reserve the right to provide a product of equivalent or higher specification/capacity at no extra cost to you.

  • Inventory Discretion: The final determination of the replacement type (New or Recertified) rests solely with Robert Electronics based on current global inventory.

4. RMA Shipping & Logistics To maintain competitive pricing and professional service standards, we utilize a "Split Shipping" responsibility model:

  • Inbound Shipping (Customer to RMA Hub): The customer is responsible for all logistics and costs associated with securely shipping the defective unit to our designated local RMA center.

  • Outbound Shipping (RMA Hub to Customer): Robert Electronics will cover the full cost of shipping the replacement unit back to the customer via standard courier.

  • Prerequisite: A valid RMA number must be clearly visible on the outside of the return package. Any units returned without prior authorization will result in the forfeiture of warranty rights.

5. Warranty Exclusions (Void Criteria) This warranty will be rendered null and void if the returned product exhibits:

  • Physical Damage: Signs of impact, dropped units, crushed casing, bent connectors, or visible dents.

  • Tampering: Broken or removed factory seals, opened drive casings, removed labels, or unauthorized repair attempts.

  • Environmental Neglect: Damage from power surges, water, fire, extreme temperatures, or improper installation.

  • Refusal to Return: Failure to return the original defective drive will result in the immediate cancellation of the warranty claim and any future support.
